Showing

Breed Showing – start by locating a local ring craft class who can teach you the required skills to show your dog. Local ‘Match Nights’ are a good place to practice your newly developed ring craft skills and the first introduction at a competitive level.

Fun/Companion Shows are another enjoyable day out. There will be lots of classes and entries are taken on the day.

Local Open Shows are often the next step. Not all may offer PLS classes; however look for AVNSC Pastoral (Any Variety Not Separately Classified). Schedules for these shows can be picked up from your local ring craft or match nights. These need to be entered approx 4 weeks in advance of the show.

The PLSC hold an Open Show specifically for PONs, these are very welcoming and friendly. There are experience handlers and owners all who will be willing to help and offer advice.

Here are PON owners who joined us at our club show where we often have a ‘Pet Parade’ where visitors to the show have the opportunity to meet other owners and discuss all things PON.

If you find you would like to progress further the next and final step are the Championship Shows – the majority of these shows qualify you for Crufts – including our very own PLSC Championship Show. Again entered in advance, there are always people around the ring who will point you in the right direction if you are new to showing.
